Alexis Elbaz

Alexis Elbaz is a Research Rirector at the Inserm U1018 Center for research in epidemiology and population health (Villejuif, France), where he co-leads the team “Epidemiology of ageing and age-related diseases”.

He also leads the program on surveillance of neurodegenerative diseases at the Institut de veille sanitaire. His research is focused on the determinants and consequences of ageing and neurodegenerative diseases, with a particular focus on motor decline and movement disorders. He is involved in several population-based cohorts or case-control studies aimed at examining the role both genetic susceptibility and environmental risk factors, as well as in a cohort of patients with Parkinson’s disease.
