Janika Kõrv, M.D., Ph.D.

Janika KÕRV, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Clinical Neurology at the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, University of Tartu, Estonia and Consultant Neurologist at Tartu University Hospital. She is the chair of the Estonian Stroke Initiative Group, board member of the Estonian L. Puusepp Society of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons, institutional delegate at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), former chairperson of the Nordic Stroke Society (2015-2019).

Janika Kõrv is a Fellow of European Stroke Organisation (ESO) and member of scientific panels of stroke and neuroepidemiology at the EAN. Her main research interests are epidemiology of stroke, stroke in young adults, and clinical projects, including acute stroke management and secondary prevention.

She has been a national coordinator in various academic multicenter clinical trials of stroke. As a team member, she has participated in ESO and EAN stroke guidelines working groups.

Janika Kõrv is a member of the editorial board of the European Stroke Journal and BMC Neurology and served as a reviewer for many international medical journals.
