Edith Hofer, Ph.D.

Edith HOFER, Ph.D., is a senior scientist at the Medical University of Graz, Austria, where she is affiliated to the Clinical Division of Neurogeriatrics at the Department of Neurology and the Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Documentation. She holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, focusing on bioinformatics, from the Graz University of Technology.

Edith Hofer is involved in several projects of the CHARGE consortium, mainly in genome-wide association studies of the NeuroCHARGE group investigating MRI markers of brain aging, and the JPND-BRIDGET consortium. She is data analyst of two studies on the effects of vascular risk factors on brain structure and function established at the Medical University of Graz: the Austrian Stroke Prevention Study (ASPS) and the Austrian Stroke Prevention Family Study (ASPS-Fam). Edith Hofer teaches “Statistics” and “Critical evaluation of medical literature” for medical students at the Medical University of Graz.
